Instructions To Launch Site

Directions to Hanover, MA North River Kayak Launch Area

1. From Massachusetts Route 3 EXIT #12 proceed on Route 139 West 2.3 miles to the intersection with Route 53.

2. Continue on Route 139 West 0.8 miles to the Traffic Light and intersection of BROADWAY.

3. Turn LEFT on BROADWAY and proceed 0.3 miles to the fork with ELM Street.

4. Bear LEFT on ELM Street and proceed 0.6 miles to INDIAN HEAD Street.

5. Turn LEFT on INDIAN HEAD Street and proceed 0.3 miles to LAUNCH SITE at end of street on right.

• Please be at launch site by 12:00 NOON to unload boats and move an appropriate number of vehicles to the Take Out point.

• The Departure will be at 1:00 SHARP in order to take advantage of the tidal flows.

• We will stop at the 6 mile point in a comfortable Pine Grove to consume whatever provisions you bring.

• Bring water - No restrooms at launch site, not much better at take out.

• The route is 11.6 miles, downhill and is an easy 4 hours, unless there are significant winds from the Northeast.
