1987 BMW K100RS

2006 Northern Lake Champlain Shore (1 Mile Below Canadian Border)

Bags are removed and in cottage for the evening. Bike bears evidence of a day of riding secondary roads in the rain. With the proper clothing and gear touring in the rain is no worse than touring in the sun (just different). I try to find some sort of personal adventure for my birthday every year. These images are from 3 days of riding from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. In all it was a very satisfying birthday weekend.

Bike is shown with bags attached and saddle in the open position. Bike is a pleasant touring machine in the fall weather. The heat coming from the radiator provides comfort in the lower fall temperatures and allows the rider the freedom of less insulating clothing.

SOLD June 28, 2008.

Saturday I sold my '87 K100RS. I still have my '66 R60/2 and '77 MG 850-T3 but there is an empty space in my garage and my heart. We did almost 30K miles together is some of the sloppiest weather New England has to offer. The bike was quick, quiet and unobtrusive. I wish the new owner all the luck and pleasures I had on my time with her.

I realize that there is no way I could pay proper attention to 3motorcycles so the herd is thinned to a "Winter Bike" and the /2. (And maybe an R100 type restoration project in the future).
